from epizenter

Its the ultimate Creative Device. We have X-Fi, SDHC card support, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, camera, and a freaking GPS! Does that sounds familiar? It sounds 99% mobile phone! All it lacks is 3G and phone reciever. It is still hard to visualise a handphone by Creative. Unreal. This is definetly an iTouch killer... or erm iPhone. If we have a killer interface for Android, this device will have a huge potential. Although I have to say, all the features do sound alittle old or farmilar in the smartphone market, so innovation is still the most important thing. Hopefully, Creative will live up to its name and do what they should do, be creative and surprise us!

Will be saving up now!

Broadcom Wireless stopped working after Windows Updates

Saturday, July 25, 2009

After a bit of troubleshooting I've narrowed the problem down, at least on my computer, Pavillion dv9417ca.

The problem is caused by Cumulative Update for Windows Media Center for Windows Vista.

When I install this update the broadcom drivers disappear.

In my last post I described the process I use to get the drivers back, now I've found a quicker way. Here are the steps:

1. Remove Cumulative Update for WMC listed above. Restart.

2. Start Recovery Manager (type Rec in Search and then click Recovery Manager to run it. Choose Advanced setting and reinstall Broadcom driver. It will ask to restart computer so restart it.

3. When computer restarts go into bios setup (F10 on my machine at startup) and Load System Defaults. Broadcom driver will NOT reinstall if you do not do this. I forgot to mention this in the last post. Then exit saving changes. Computer will restart and once windows starts your broadcom driver should load (you should see it in the system tray on startup.)

Blue light should come on with wireless working.

One thing. If your computer goes into sleep mode you will lose the drivers again, at least on my computer it does. You will have to do the process all over again. I reset sleep mode to NEVER.

I've done this process several times now and every time it works. It does not work when the Cumulative Update for WMS is installed.

Hopefully someone else can try and let us know if the same thing happens for them.

Automatic Updates is now turned off on my computer and Sleep Mode is set to never and things are working fine. Obviously though there needs to be a fix issued for this by HP or Microsoft.

Hope this helps someone.

Apparently when I tried to load a file, it switched off of my default audio plugin and changed it to ReWire, which I don't have.
I fixed it under Mixer menu.

Vocaloid 2 error

For those using Vocaloid 2 from http://www.datorrents.com/torrents-details.asp?id=32880 by Ichigo, you might have an error opening the program even though it was working fine the first time.

This is because you have more than 1 network card. The solution is very simple.

Hi friends, maybe it is too late but I got the same problem and I know how to fix it.

The problem is that I have more than 1 network card (2 LAN cards and 1 WAN.) First after install, it was perfect worked but for a week later I don't know why it got the problem.

To fix it is, if you still have Vocaloid key gen (vocaloid2_kg.exe) then open it and generate an active key file again BUT LOOK! select another network card different from the first time activated. Then re-active by the same way you did (offline activated).

Now everything go work again, try.

Unique PV. Interesting concept. Funny too haha...

Sony Ericsson Android User Interface, classy

That's one of the best UI I have ever seen, and its from Google's Android! It is certainly extremely classy, like an CEO's phone. It is also very 'social' oriented. You can really know what's going on with your friends/family just by viewing their profile, and this will lead you to sms/email conversation, twitter and facebook, even photos! That is certainly very neat.

Sony Ericsson is heading towards the right direction. Can't wait.

Creative is back with Zii EGG?

Tuesday, July 7, 2009
As you can see from above, the Zii will come in two versions. The Zii (for the average consumer like us) and the Zii EGG (for developers). What we know so far is that the Zii is a touchscreen MP4 player with Wi-Fi and bluetooth support. It also has a HD camera and a SD Slot. The outline looks very much like a iPod touch, but seriously, how different can a touchscreen player look? Since the Zii EGG is a "developer edition", we are expecting Creative to allow people to write apps for the Zii with the help of an SDK.

Well well, just when I was going to hunt for a PMP, Creative is finally going to produce a Zii product. I have high hopes for this new product and I feel that it is going in a new direction with this Zii chip. I was just wondering if that is really a HD camera, because wouldn't that become more like a mobile phone instead of a mp4 player?

I am gonna save up money for this.

iPhone 3GS in Singapore on 10 July 2009

Monday, July 6, 2009
http://asia.cnet.com/i/r/2007/crave/hp/20070821_iphone_singtel_sc.jpg

The highest price has been set at S$678 for a 32GB model for those who subscribe to the new, cheaper 500MB iFlexi Lite plan at S$39 per month. Those who choose to subscribe to the 2GB iFlexi Plus plan at S$95 a month get a 16GB iPhone 3GS free.

Existing SingTel iPhone 3G users who have completed six months of their contract can upgrade to the new model by topping up S$600 to re-contract for another 24 months.

They can trade in their 8GB iPhone 3G and 16GB iPhone 3G to offset S$300 and S$400, respectively, of the cost of the new model.

Visit
www.singtelshop.com/iPhone3GS/ for details.

That sounds pretty expensive as compared to the ones in US. A mobile plan that is almost a hundred bucks will hurt alot.

Attention to NS ppl! New non-camera phone HTC Snap is here!
